Built at the end of the 17th century by Mohammed Nassiri El Haskouri, a scholar and descendant of Sidi Mohamed Ben Nacer, the famous founder of Zaouia Naciria in Tamgroute, Kasbah Amridil originally housed a small brotherhood which provided education principles of Islam and learning the Koran. A dimension, which you will notice during your visit, and which is integrated into the architecture of the Kasbah through the pavilion reserved for students and the room dedicated to prayer.
Built in the 12th century by the Almohads, it was originally called Mehdiya. It is the kasbah which gave its name to the city. The Ribat is in fact a fortified convent and it is here that monk-soldiers who were going to wage holy war in Spain against the Christians settled.
The Qasbah des Oudayas, classified as a world heritage site by UNESCO, has become a haven of peace and inspiration for many artists from Morocco and around the world.
