Casablanca to Rabat
Morning: Pickup at CMN airport or your hotel - the Hassan II Mosque and the Habous quarter. Afternoon: North to Rabat: the Kasbah of the Udayas and Hassan Tower. Overnight in Rabat.
Into the Rif - Chefchaouen
Morning: Drive north through the Rif foothills. Afternoon: First wander in the blue medina and the sunset viewpoint at the Spanish Mosque. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Akchour waterfalls or the blue medina, slowly
Full day - your choice: the Akchour waterfalls hike (45 min each way, swimming pools) or a slow blue-city day: the kasbah garden, weavers' quarter and the rooftop cafes. Second night in Chefchaouen.
Volubilis, Meknes & Fes
Morning: Volubilis' Roman mosaics. Afternoon: Meknes - Bab Mansour and the royal granaries - then on to Fes. Overnight in Fes.
Fes el-Bali, the full day
Full day with a licensed local guide: Chouara tanneries, Bou Inania madrasa, the potters' quarter and the souk labyrinth. Overnight in Fes.
Middle Atlas: Ifrane, Azrou & the Ziz to Merzouga
Morning: Ifrane and the cedar forests of Azrou (Barbary macaques). Afternoon: The Ziz Valley to Merzouga - camel trek into Erg Chebbi at sunset, dinner and drumming at camp.
Desert sunrise to the kasbah route
Dawn: Sunrise on the dunes. Day: Rissani's souk, Todra Gorge and the Dades - overnight near Ouarzazate.
Ait Ben Haddou & the Atlas to Marrakech
Morning: Ksar Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate. Afternoon: Tizi n'Tichka down to Marrakech - first evening on Jemaa el-Fnaa.
Essaouira - the Atlantic day
Day trip to the coast: the fishing port's blue boats, the skala ramparts and a grilled-fish lunch - the Essaouira day trip done as part of the loop. Overnight in Essaouira's medina.
Marrakech, the full city day
Morning: Back to Marrakech (~3h). Afternoon + evening: the city-tour itinerary: Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the souks and the square at dusk. Overnight in Marrakech.
Free morning & departure
Morning: Last coffee on a medina terrace, final souk purchases - Majorelle Garden if it was missed. Transfer to RAK airport or onward (Casablanca CMN transfer can be arranged).

What does the 11-day add over the 9-day?
Two things the 9-day has to skip: a second full day in Chefchaouen (including the Akchour waterfalls hike) and a proper [Essaouira day](/blog/essaouira-day-trip-from-marrakech-guide) on the Atlantic coast at the end.
Can I do this tour from Marrakech instead of Casablanca?
Yes - the route reverses cleanly. Most guests land at CMN and finish in Marrakech, but if your flights are both through RAK we start in Marrakech and run the loop the other way.
Is the Akchour hike hard?
It is a gentle 45-minute walk each way on a marked trail to natural pools. Non-hikers can skip it and spend the day in the blue medina instead.
